As the leaves change to lovely shades of gold, orange, and red; the warm summer air becomes cool and crisp, and the sight of pumpkin-spiced hot dogs provoke our gag reflex, it’s time to start thinking about fall family fun. Fall is where my “happy place” resides. I’ve compiled a list of my all-time favorite fall activities to keep even your most persnickety child happy and healthy.

2. Pick apples in an orchard
3. Roam a pumpkin patch
4. Bask in the fall foliage
5. Bob for apples
6. Have a picnic in the park
7. Plan a scavenger hunt
8. Make a scarecrow
9. Explore a local fall festival
10. Splash in puddles
11. Host a bonfire
12. Decorate a pumpkin
13. Visit a zoo
14. Wander a corn maze
15. Hand out goodie-bags to the homeless
16. Visit an arboretum
17. Attend a football game
18. Play hide-n-go seek
19. Fly a kite
19 ½. Walk through a vineyard (wine-tasting for mom and grape-tasting for kids)*
*½ point deducted because this last one is really for mommy. Please remember to play and drink responsibly. Mommy should always have a designated driver. (Hi, Daddy!)
